I was worried how heavy these would be, but I just recieved these bags and I'm so happy with how light they are! Great price and the sizes are larger than I thought.

In response to the other photo saying how small the bags are, I think the bags are pretty true to size.
Blue: you can see that a 1 Liter smart water bottle takes up only half the bag.
Red: That is ~3L cantene,
Yellow: stuffed with a 6ft sleeping bag and liner. (it compressed pretty well)

I use these "dry sacks" as inexpensive form of packing cubes. I have never used these as dry bags; however, when I do use dry bags when I kayak, I prefer to use a more trustworthy brand because the last thing I want is a wet phone and lunch. When I do use them as packing cubes I like it because it compresses the air and I can carry more in my bag. I like the various sizes and colors because I can remember what is in each bag.
Pros:
- variety of size and color
- easy to use
- good for packing
- nice quality
Cons:
- not as trustworthy for water
(unless you like to dance with the devil)
- big buckle can be not as tight

Work as intended. I have used these on numerous occasions camping trips and for general organizing and packing of clothes in my luggage (I've had luggage helplessly stuck out in pouring rain at airports before by baggage handlers on a few occasions). I recently purchased 2 more sets and paid $9 for each. The trick as many others have stated is to not overfill them and loosely roll the top and compress the contents if you want to purge the air, then tighten how you have the top rolled and click it together. When there is a bear pole at a camp site I don't hesitate to hang these by themselves up on the hooks and when there is not I clip them onto an s-biner and hoist them up with a rope into a tree. Everything inside has always been dry the next morning even after heavy rain and wind. Have never had a problem and would buy again when these wear out. Wish they would make a similar model with an air purge valve but I can't complain since the price of these are so fair.

Fantastic! Kept my slr camera and everything else completely dry during many zodiac boat rides on a recent trip to Antarctica.
Highly recommended!

I read reviews saying they wouldn't be waterproof. So as soon as they came in I filled them with water and hung them with paracord from a tree for about a half hour. I didn't see or feel one drop come out. Maybe I got lucky? but for backpacking and using these as food (bear) bags or keep stuff waterproof while hiking. 100% good. Probably wouldn't put my phone in it and hold it under water...but it will keep your stuff pretty damn dry.

The ultimate ditty bags, extremely lightweight, very water resistant. I had a $1,500 camera in one and it fell into a river and came out completely dry. The tape on the seams will eventually wear out so check and replace depending on your use level. I bought three sets and managed five years of travel with them. Great for organizing your gear, one for the gopro and accessories, on for camping gear, one for phone spare batteries and chargers, one for mac air charger and external drives. Not as rugged as rubberized products but they weigh next to nothing and will roll up to near nothing when not in use.

Update: The bags I bought two years ago have been with me on my non-stop travels. They are starting to show some wear so I came back to buy more but find that the price has gone up 50% on amazon.

These are excellent bags. A friend gave me a set of these a while back as a gift, and everyone I know who is into backpacking has been picking them up one by one because we all like them and they're cheap!
They are also very water resistant. They claim they can't be submerged, but in my experience they actually can be. I doubt they will still do that after a year or two of backpacking use, but the emergency supplies in my car don't get moved often so these are perfect for that.

Overnight hiked the Zion Narrows, packed all my stuff in these, otherwise lined my backpack with only a plain trash bag, and everything came out bone dry! They have also gotten me through a few river floats and boat ride without any wet wallets or cell phones. Honestly, because I find the different sizes and colors useful for organizing my things, I use them on hiking trips even where there's only a remote chance of getting wet. Definitely recommend.

I bought these for my son who is going to Philmont this year. These are perfect ditty bags for him to use on his trip. It is critical that his bags be waterproof, and these certainly do the trick!. The three sizes are great, and the colors help him stay more organized (he is ADHD, so little things like this are IMPORTANT). He's using the large bag to hang his "smellables" in the bear bag, the smaller bag for miscellaneous crew gear, and the red bag will get filled with a change of clothes and double as his pillow!

As others have said, these are not waterproof. However, they don't get soaked right away. I did two experiments with them: One in which I filled a sack and left it on the lawn while the sprinkler system was going and the other where a filled a sack and let it float on water. Neither time did the contents stay perfectly dry, but both were considerably drier than when I did the same test using just a nylon stuff sac. They'll be useful for bike rides in the mist or a light rain, but I don't think they'll protect the gear in a downpour.

I was hoping the largest one would fit a sleeping bag, but it's too small. The colors are bright and they seem solidly constructed. The fold-down method of closing them seems easy to master.
