Had the original xbox one but felt it was time to upgrade. Saw this excellent deal and decided to go for it. Came with various promotions and an excellent game. Runs faster than the original one and is considerably smaller. Also like that it comes in white. The only thing i didnt like was that it's only 500 GB. Very small amount of storage for this new generation but you can always use external hard drives.

Also really enjoy that it can play 4k movies so now i can finally watch things in 4k. All in all a great deal.

This was a birthday gift and I wanted to have it set up for my son so he could play it first thing on birthday morning. The bundle was easy to set up and everything went smoothly. We downloaded the three games and also gave him 2 additional games as gifts. The storage is now half-way full, and I'm estimating that the system is large enough for a total of 10 games, depending on the type of game. Halo5 took up a lot of space. Considering that my kid focuses in 2 or 3 games until he has played them through, this system probably has enough storage space for our needs. There is an option of later adding an external hard drive for $60 or $80 which seems reasonable.

This is the fourth Xbox console that I've bought.
I've had the 1st gen, the xbox 360 arcade, the xbox one and now this one. I can tell you: this xbox one S is way smaller than the previous one. It seems a little bit faster but I think it's because the internal hard drive isn't still full, or maybe they made it faster. I can't tell you about the emulated 4k in this console because I don't have a 4K TV. The white color is beautiful but be careful not to touch it with dirty hands.
The Dashboard now in January 2018 has a lot of overloaded information, I mean, you just want to play, but people from microsoft is still trying to sell to you a full entertainment device, and that is ok, but normally when I turn the xbox one on, I just want to play. I think they should go back to cleaner interfaces.
One thing I hate, is when I first unbox your console and want to play right away, but you have to download an entire life of updates.
If you are purchasing an xbox console, be ready to turn it on and wait for a half day to download a couple of gigabytes, and even more if your games a digital versions. I have a 10mb speed internet conection.
Feel free to ask if you need to know something.

I'm going to try and make this brief, because I think most people know the basics of a videogame console, but a lot of people will be interested in the differences between systems, and what makes this one new/unique.

I purchased the PS4 slim and the XBox One S on Black Friday when they were hugely discounted. I'm not going to be one of those guys that says that one is better than the other, because to be honest, they are so similar that 99% of what you see and do on these consoles is essentially identical.

This XBox is smaller than the original One. It also doesn't need a power brick any more which saves space. It's 7.1% faster, which really doesn't mean much, although it may smooth out some slight slowdowns in games. It now sports 4K upscaling and a 4K blu-ray player, which is pretty sweet. Other than those few tweaks, it's the same as the previous version, and not as powerful as the XBox One X.

I'll start with what I do like about this console. I've owned a 360, and since then I've always preferred XBox controllers for 3D games. The overall shape of it just feels more ergonomic to me, and I like the left analog stick being the primary control. The One controller is pretty similar to the 360 in shape and feel, so making the transition should feel right at home.

I like that these new consoles have the ability to take screenshots and share video. While it's relatively painless to do this on the One, it does lack versatility which I'll get into. All your activity in this area, along with achievements, are shared to your friends, and you can see their activity as well in a new area in the menus. I do prefer the old layout though, where you could see their avatar surrounded by their activity, instead of having everyone jumbled into one screen.

The online ecosystem is just as great as the 360. By paying for Xbox Live Gold you not only get access to this ecosystem, but you also get 4 free games every month with Games for Gold. 2 of these are One games and 2 are 360 games, but they are all playable on the One. Additionally, you can keep the 360 games even if you drop your subscription, although this doesn't apply to the One games.

This brings me to one of the huge selling points of the One: backwards compatibility. They have a huge list of games that's getting bigger all the time, including a few original Xbox titles. Not all of the games I want are on there, but it's far better than the zero games that the PS4 can play.

Now onto the things I don't like. To start, I don't care for the menu systems/home screens of either console. The XBox one makes things extra confusing. On your home screen you have the last application you used, and next to it are random applications or whatever other panels you want to pin to your screen. Then you scroll down for a detailed view of whatever you've highlighted. The confusion for me is that many of the basic things you'd want to do, such as viewing your game list, are presented in a very minimal block of text, or you have to access them from the Home button. It's not terrible, but it just seems like their home screen panels show almost nothing that I want to see and much of what I don't.

While the controller is great, and probably my favorite of the two consoles, it isn't flawless. The D-pad is a great step up from the 360 pad, but it's still awkwardly placed for primary use (which is a necessary compromise) and the buttons make an odd clicky sound that I find mildly annoying. This controller has added rumble motors for the triggers as well, which sounds good on paper, but in actual use it basically just feels like a little button vibrating your finger.

I don't care that this console only comes in white, but that's a minor complaint.

The only other thing I dislike about the console is the 500 GB hard drive. There was only a little over 300 GBs available when I booted this system up, which seems like a lot but when I downloaded a half dozen games I already owned, it was already full. Most games now require large updates and hard drive installations right out of the box, so this space fills up quickly. Fortunately you can get an external hard drive.

So that's it, I hope my review has been helpful. Overall I would certainly recommend this console to any gamer, casual or serious. If you can't decide between this and the PS4, I suggest you take a look at the exclusive games, your controller preference, and what system your friends have for online play. Don't let the fanboys try and sway you or tell you that one is junk and one is the best, because it's all up to preference.

Originally, I only purchased this for the 4K Blu Ray player. The price was too good to pass up. I've been a loyal PS4 user for years, but didn't want to upgrade to the PS4 pro as it only offers 4K streaming. I have to admit, in comparison, the controller just feels better to me. The 4K player is outstanding as well. I am thoroughly impressed.

The Xbox One S 500 GB console is one of the newest editions of Xbox to come out. This console is best for those gamers who are looking for a great experience graphically and from a quality standpoint. There are a few areas I would like to specifically rate this one would be speed, data usage and overall general opinions.

When it comes to speed this console is generally very fast and reliable. You are able to quickly switch between screens and different options within games. For the system speed, start up is fast as well as general system updates. However, overtime you insert a new game it downloads to the system and this takes quite some time. The first few games took close to an hour each. Each game also requires individual updates as well periodically. These are the biggest downside to the Xbox One S in my opinion.

Along with the downside to the speed, each game downloads individually to the system. This takes up a lot of storage on your system. However, you are able to download apps that you might use frequently such as Netflix or Hulu. This feature is useful and important especially if you are using this device on a non "smart tv". However, the Xbox One console is equipped with 4k Blu-Ray player. This makes the graphics look life like, this paired with a 4k TV makes these games seem like they are happening right in your room.

This system is one that I would recommend to all others looking for a great gaming system equipped with great graphics, sounds, and perks alike. This system is one of the best for online and head-to-head gaming, broadening your experience if you would choose to. The downside to this is that many modes on many games require "Xbox Live" to be considered playable. This is an added expense if you so choose to buy it, however there are many deals available for those that do buy Live.

Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and will continue to buy Xbox products as they improve. As stated above their are few negatives compared to the many positives of this device. With the main downfall being how long it takes to initially load games. This is a problem that Xbox can address and handle on their end.

I wanted to wait until the xbox was up and running, before I left a review. My boyfriend was so happy with the gift, and we fired it up no problem. If you're already used to the Xbox operating system, you'll love it. Keep in mind, it will need to connect to wifi and do a software update upon startup, but it's only about an hour of download/installation. There were some other reviews explaining that the white xbox had smudges or dirt on it, like it had been used. This one came in a sealed box, was perfectly clean and brand new. Keep in mind, if you're purchasing this for a gamer, you're going to want to buy another controller and maybe a controller charging station. Otherwise, I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase and will definitely buy from this distributor again!

Bought this as our fifth Xbox one system in our house. We have five kids and this was for our youngest daughter. It’s easy to set up and a quality system. We have had no system malfunctions with any of our Xbox Ones. If you have any problems, a call to Microsoft and they help you fix any software issues. I would recommend this system!

Was a little awhed at first. Didn't know you need access to the internet to just get started. But once installation was completed. Everything fell in place. Put a disk in or create a Microsoft account and down load games to play. The graphic is amazing. Having so much fun. Also, you can buy Xbox live gold pass and explore the journey of playing all the free games. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.

I bought this as a present for my husband because his old Xbox started to have some problems. I bought this and he got a hold of it before I even got home from work. By the time I was home from work he had it hooked up and was playing it. (insert eye rolling emoticon here) He absolutely loves it. the project came in the original packaging and in perfect condition and we got it during a lightning deal.
